You will find Troy, Oregon in the North Eastern part of the state just out of Lewiston, Idaho, and Enterprise, Oregon.  We are an unincorporated community in Wallowa County.  The Grande Ronde and Wenaha Rivers meet and flow into the Snake River.  Rafters and kayakers often put in at Minam, Oregon, for a two or three day float (45 miles) through designated scenic wilderness and take out at Troy.  This part of the river is no more than Class 3 in difficulty and guide service can be arranged.  The real rafting enthusiasts continue to Heller's Bar at the confluence of the Grande Ronde and Snake River.
Troy is west of Enterprise bringing you through Flora on Oregon Rt. 3.  At the bottom of Flora Grade you will turn left after crossing the bridge.  Troy is 2 miles down the road.  If you are coming from Lewiston, Idaho, you will go south out of Clarkston, Washington, on State Route 129 through Anatone.  At the bottom of Rattle Snake Grade, before going across the bridge, you will turn right.  You are now 16 miles from Troy on the Grande Ronde River. Drive carefully.  The road is paved but without a center line.
The  restaurant is open everyday but Tuesday from 6:00 AM noon to 8:00 PM.  We also boast a one room school house which follows Enterprise School District’s school schedule.

In the late 1890s, a Mormon settlement called "Nauvoo" was established on the site of what is now known as Troy.  In 1902 a postoffice was opened and the town became incorporated in 1910.  It is believed that the town changed its' name to "Troy" in 1931 to honor a son (Troy Grinstead) of one of the original Mormon founders. Troy used to be a business center for the surrounding farms and ranches, and a "fisherman's getaway paradise" in its relative isolation.

In the 1960s, the city of Troy shrunk and businesses in Flora were closed. When the post office in Troy closed in 1965 the population dwindled even further and the town became known as a great spot for steelhead and trout fishing, as well as hiking and rafting on the Grande Ronde River.  At this time farming is the main source of income.

Fishing, hunting, kayaking, white water rafting, hiking and photography opportunities are some of the many reasons for visiting Troy.  You will feel welcome and comfortable in this laid back community while relaxing in your vacation rental lodge.

When arriving in Troy, Oregon, you will find many activities to keep you busy such as hiking the Wenaha Trail or steelhead fishing on the Grande Ronde River.  Many people enjoy kayaking, rafting or tubing the Grande Ronde River as well.  We are willing to shuttle you to Wild Cat Bridge seven miles above Troy for your day full of water adventures.

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway from the stress of your busy life you will find our vacation rental a peaceful place to unwind.  The pond outside your apartment offers a waterfall and fountain as well as gold fish.  You might also see humming birds, bullfrogs or dragonflies.

Just across the road from the apartment you can enjoy the river deck overlooking the Grande Ronde River where you will see nature at its finest.  Eagles, river otters, heron, Canada Geese and more are here for your viewing enjoyment.
